A new lease of life for CHIMIREC Poland
Over the past two years, the Polish subsidiary of the CHIMIREC Group has acquired the human resources and technical equipment that will enable it to further expand its activities in the local waste management market.
A recognised expertise
Established in Poland for twenty years, CHIMIREC Poland has successfully leveraged its expertise in hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, while consistently complying with traceability and safety requirements. Recently, the strengthening of local waste management legislation has only served to cement its position as an exemplary service provider in the eyes of local inspection authorities and manufacturers seeking a reliable partner for the ethical management of their waste.
Furthermore, during the energy transition phase, Polish industry, which until now has been heavily dependent on fossil fuels, particularly coal, is taking a keen interest in alternative energy sources. The CHIMIREC Group's expertise in the manufacture of Refuse Derived Fuel is a key strength for CHIMIREC Poland.
Deployment and diversification of activities
All the pieces are in place to reach a new milestone in growth:
- At the end of 2023 Sebastian Wrzesieǹ took up his position as the new subsidiary director. Drawing on his knowledge of the Polish market, he restructured the operations of CHIMIREC Poland, particularly in terms of logistics and sales, and injected new momentum into the business.
- Carrying out work to bring the premises into compliance.
- The acquisition of a new shredder to increase the production capacity of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) and meet the growing demand from cement manufacturers who praise the quality of CHIMIREC's manufacturing processes
- · In June 2024, the recruitment of a new laboratory manager, a Doctor of Chemical Engineering. His skills and dedication have helped optimize the management of collected waste and open promising prospects for the implementation of new processes. To give him the means to do so, the CHIMIREC Group has invested in more efficient laboratory equipment..
Alongside the increase in RDF production, CHIMIREC Poland is focusing on the management of “ecological bombs”, abandoned hazardous waste storage sites that need to be cleared in accordance with safety and traceability regulations.
For this type of service, our Polish subsidiary offers its expertise to public authorities through tenders, which it responds to in partnership with a local stakeholder with adequate incineration capacity.
