Introducing CHIMIREC Morocco 2.0, our second operating site !

Place à CHIMIREC Maroc 2.0, notre second site d’exploitation !

Established in Kenitra since 2018, our Moroccan subsidiary obtained, at the end of 2024, the renewal of its operating licences for the next five years: a testament to the professionalism of our teams, which also reflects the commitment of local authorities to responsible waste management.

A new dynamic for CHIMIREC Morocco

In this promising context, the CHIMIREC Group has decided to invest in the creation of a new operating site for CHIMIREC Morocco, equipped with the human, technical and logistical resources to meet the needs of its industrial customers. The feasibility of the project and CHIMIREC's choice of an industrial site at the edge of a free zone being created in Ain Johra have been approved by the Regional Investment Centre.

At the helm of our Moroccan subsidiary since February 2022, Fabien Molinier has successfully instilled a new dynamic of development within his team, drawing on his twenty years of experience in the local industry. The restructuring of the Kenitra site and its commercial deployment have borne fruit, enabling the company to reach a decisive milestone in its development.

CHIMIREC Ain Johra: a new site with strong business potential

A strategic location

Located less than an hour from our Kenitra site, CHIMIREC Ain Johra benefits from a strategic location from both a geographical and economic point of view. Located on the outskirts of the capital Rabat, on the road to Fez, it is close to a free trade zone undergoing rapid economic expansion.

Local needs to be met

Already, in 2024, the Kenitra site has been equipped with a new, more efficient grinder, to increase its production of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), in response to growing demand from local cement manufacturers. Nevertheless, this increased production capacity is far from meeting the expectations of cement manufacturers, who are forced to import tyres to fuel their kilns. More broadly, every year, approximately 100,000 tonnes of hazardous waste cannot find a waste manager in Morocco.

At its new site in Ain Johra, with a platform for collecting, consolidating, sorting and treating hazardous industrial waste, CHIMIREC Morocco will take on the challenge of collecting and treating 30,000 tonnes of waste per year on a vast 18,500 m² site.

Building on the expertise it has acquired in recent years in the manufacture of high-quality alternative fuels, CHIMIREC Morocco is, of course, planning to set up a production line for liquid and solid substitute fuels for cement plants. Our Moroccan subsidiary will be supported in this implementation by all the Group's expertise, particularly that of our teams at CHIMIREC Turkey, CHIMIREC Javené, and CHIMIREC Socodeli Beaucaire.

A motivated and trained team

The CHIMIREC Morocco team, which until now consisted of 12 employees, will be strengthened in early October with the arrival of a management controller and a sales manager. Ultimately, with the opening of the Ain Johra site, CHIMIREC Morocco will have more than fifty employees. In the meantime, as recruitment progresses, new employees will be trained in the safety rules governing our activities and our technical expertise in hazardous waste management, particularly the production of alternative fuels, which requires proven expertise.

Construction work on this new platform is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with production of RDF set to launch at the new CHIMIREC Ain Johra site in late 2027 !
