Beaucaire’s experience put to good use in MAROC 2.0
CHIMIREC Maroc’s new production site in Ain Johra is expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2028, with the aim of achieving an annual production of 25,000 to 30,000 tonnes of Refuse Derived Fuel. To meet this challenge, our Moroccan subsidiary can count on the active support of CHIMIREC Socodeli Beaucaire.
The new Ain Johra platform, on which construction is due to begin at the end of this year, will be ideally situated on a high-potential economic corridor linking Tangier to Casablanca via Rabat.
With this new production site, CHIMIREC Maroc will undergo a major expansion and, in the process, will become Chimirec Ain Jorah.
Firstly, the available space. The new facility for the collection, consolidation, sorting and treatment of hazardous industrial waste will be built on a site covering nearly 2 hectares.
Secondly, new, more efficient equipment. Our Moroccan subsidiary is setting up a new, significantly larger Refuse Derived Fuel production line. This new capacity will not only enable us to meet the growing demand from local and foreign cement manufacturers, but also to meet the Moroccan market’s expectations regarding the quality of hazardous waste treatment.
Sharing expertise
To best prepare for the change in scale and the use of new tools, a Franco-Moroccan CHIMIREC collaboration has been set up under the leadership of Fabien Molinier, the director of CHIMIREC Morocco.
New recruits, the process, the chemistry: CHIMIREC Ain Johra will benefit from the experience gained by the teams at CHIMIREC Socodeli Beaucaire. This sharing of expertise is all the more relevant given that the fuel production process to be implemented at the new Moroccan site will be similar to that used in the south of France. It will enable Moroccan teams to develop their skills quickly and in a controlled manner.
This new capacity is part of the favourable context of the country’s economic development and growing demand from manufacturers.
