CHIMIREC International: a positive result for 2024

CHIMIREC International: a successful year in 2024

The CHIMIREC Group's international activities grew strongly in 2024. It's true that the environment is buoyant, and that the Group has everything it takes to establish itself as a key player in waste management.

Indeed, the urgency of the environmental challenges we face on a global scale is prompting more and more countries to legislate in favour of virtuous waste management. The CHIMIREC Group is recognised by public authorities and local economic stakeholders for its expertise, reliability and transparency.

CHIMIREC's international subsidiaries are all on the move.

  • In Canada, growth exceeded targets

Established in Quebec in 2009, the CHIMIREC Group now has three subsidiaries specialising in hazardous waste management: Solva-Rec Environnement, FEC Technologie and Recyclage Hydrocarb. The latter, in which the Group acquired 100% of the shares in 2023, is dedicated to the collection and consolidation of used black oils, the CHIMIREC Group's historic activity in France.

In Canada, CHIMIREC's business grew faster than forecast in 2024 thanks to the trust our customers have placed in us to handle their exceptional operations, making the Canadian subsidiary one of the Group's leading international operations..

  • In Poland, a new director

CHIMIREC Poland has two sites, in Warsaw and Lódz, which collect, transport and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous waste for recovery or disposal. Following the tightening of regulations on waste management, the country needs professionals who rigorously apply the new safety and traceability standards. CHIMIREC Poland is already recognised for its professionalism in every respect, both by industry stakeholders and by local inspection services.

The restructuring, particularly in logistics and sales, led by Sebastian Wrzesieǹ, has enabled the Polish subsidiary to consolidate its strengths as it embarks on a new phase of business development. Plans include the opening of a third site in Poland.

  • RDF production on the rise in Turkey

In just a few years, CHIMIREC Avrasya has become the leading producer of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) in Turkey, benefiting from the experience acquired in this field by the French subsidiaries CHIMIREC Javené and CHIMIREC Socodeli Beaucaire. Today, the CHIMIREC site in Gebze has had to adjust its configuration and invest in new production tools to meet the needs of its customers, a dozen local cement manufacturers. An additional crusher is currently being installed, which will considerably increase production capacity from 55,000 tonnes a year to 80,000 tonnes, with the overall objective of doubling or even tripling capacity within the next five years. Steps to set up a second site are well under way.

  • In Morocco, a milestone in development

The CHIMIREC Group's latest international subsidiary also had a decisive year in 2024 for the development of its activities. As in Turkey, local demand for Refuse Derived Fuel is rising sharply. In response, the CHIMIREC Group has invested in a new shredder with a tenfold increase in capacity, to give its Moroccan subsidiary the technical resources to triple its RDF production soon.
In addition, CHIMIREC Maroc is starting up an integrated waste collection service to secure transport operations that were previously outsourced.

In conclusion, CHIMIREC International is looking forward to 2025.
