CHIMIREC Avrasya: launch of a second production line of RDF
For several years, the Turkish subsidiary of the CHIMIREC Group has built a reputation for expertise and reliability in the manufacture of RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel). It has gained the trust of some ten local cement factories, which regularly come to purchase alternative fuel for their plants.
As an alternative energy resource to fossil fuels, RDF meets the requirements of the ecological transition which involves the decarbonation of industry. In this context, the Turkish market is seeing growing demand for this type of virtuous and high-performance energy.
To meet the needs of its current customers and expand its offering to new customers, the CHIMIREC Group has decided to equip its Turkish subsidiary with new RDF production tools.
Inauguration of the new RDF production line
At the beginning of April, in the presence of Jean Fixot, President of the CHIMIREC Group, and all the directors of the international subsidiaries – Poland, Canada, Morocco – CHIMIREC Avrasya officially launched its new RDF production line, which had previously been validated by positive tests.
This is the culmination of several months of work and redevelopment of CHIMIREC Avrasya's operating site in Gebze. External storage areas were expanded to accommodate more waste on site. A second UNTHA shredder was added to the existing shredder to significantly increase production capacity. From 50,000 tons of RDF currently produced per year, CHIMIREC Avrasya can now supply 90,000 tons per year.
The next stage in the CHIMIREC Group's development in Turkey will be marked by the opening of a second operating site covering an area of 14,000 m². Although the land has now been purchased, it will take around two years for CHIMIREC Avrasya's new facility to become operational.
The meeting of all international subsidiary directors at CHIMIREC Turkey also provided an opportunity to present each country's development projects and share valuable experiences in their respective fields of activity.
