Waste collection by CHIMIREC Maroc

Developing waste collection for CHIMIREC Maroc

Based in Kénitra since 2020, the CHIMIREC Group's latest international subsidiary is continuing to establish itself in Morocco by expanding its hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste management activities. And as the year draws to a close, CHIMIREC Maroc is rolling out its integrated waste collection service, aimed primarily at its key account customers.

Right from the start, in France, the CHIMIREC Group opted for integrated waste transport logistics. This strategy has a number of objectives:

  • Control the safety and quality of the transport of dangerous materials by investing in an independent fleet of vehicles that comply with ADR regulations.
  • Independently manage the waste flows entering our operating sites;
  • To offer our customers a comprehensive waste management service, from on-site collection to final disposal.  This is a guarantee of flawless traceability
  • Pooling waste collection rounds to minimise environmental impact.

Today, in France, the CHIMIREC Group has a fleet of 548 vehicles and carries out 64,000 collection rounds a year.

With the launch of this waste collection service, CHIMIREC Maroc has taken a new step forward in its development.

Since Fabien Molinier took over the management of CHIMIREC Maroc in February 2022, the restructuring of the site and its commercial roll-out have yielded results.
Last March, the CHIMIREC Group equipped its Moroccan subsidiary with a new, more efficient crusher to meet the needs of local cement manufacturers for
Refuse Derived Fuel. In recent years, CHIMIREC Maroc has demonstrated its expertise in producing a high-quality alternative fuel. Improvements and reinforcements to the current structure have been designed to enable the site to triple the volume of waste received in the short term.

As part of this development drive, CHIMIREC Maroc recently acquired a tipper truck and around ten skips to collect large-capacity containers, from 20 m3 to 30 m3. This vehicle, which complies with French regulations on the transport of hazardous materials, will enable the Moroccan team to collect waste directly from its key account customers. A high-quality, fully secure service that will meet the high standards set by the CHIMIREC France Group. At the same time, investments have been made to equip the site with equipment for loading and unloading waste containers.

In conjunction with the creation of this new collection service, a number of new recruits are planned in the near future, both local staff and members of the volontariat international (V.I.E.).

For CHIMIREC Maroc, the end of the year augurs well for 2025.
