CHIMIREC Group: post-summer meeting for subsidiary directors

CHIMIREC Group: post-summer meeting for subsidiary directors

From 7 to 9 September, the directors of the CHIMIREC Group’s French and international subsidiaries met. The agenda for these three days included: safety, the roll-out of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy across the entire Group, and areas for development, notably featuring a presentation of international projects.

This plenary meeting took place near the CHIMIREC Norec site, located in Ecques in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region (62), providing an opportunity for all managers to visit this facility dedicated to the collection and consolidation of hazardous waste.

Stricter safety requirements

As a specialist in hazardous waste management for over sixty years, the CHIMIREC Group has always placed safety – that of people, facilities and the environment – at the forefront of its priorities and concerns.

Reducing the number of accidents is one of the 2025–2027 objectives set out in its CSR commitments, and all sites, both in France and abroad, must play their part. Furthermore, as part of a standardised safety policy, the subsidiaries CHIMIREC Canada, CHIMIREC Poland, CHIMIREC Morocco and CHIMIREC Turkey are now required, in line with the sites in France, to carry out regular and systematic monitoring of near-misses and every incident recorded at their sites.

The analysis of these reports will be used to implement corrective measures designed to ensure optimum safety.

The Group’s growth momentum

Both abroad and in France, the CHIMIREC Group continues to grow, despite a geopolitical context that is as turbulent as it is uncertain. Numerous projects, which hold the potential for growth, are currently being studied and/or implemented. Each of the international subsidiaries was able to present its own.

  • For CHIMIREC Morocco  and CHIMIREC Turkey, this involves the establishment of a second operational site.
  • For CHIMIREC Canada, the focus is on diversifying its mineral acid and base treatment operations, in technical collaboration with its French subsidiary Aretzia, which specialises in this field.
  • And, for CHIMIREC Poland, a new site is on the horizon, and its expertise in hazardous waste management is recognised in the field of ‘environmental hazards’, in response to tenders organised by the Polish public authorities.

CSR Commitments and the CHIMIREC Group’s Purpose

The directors’ meeting featured a presentation of the Group’s CSR strategy, which builds on the company’s long-standing commitments.

The objectives set for 2025–2027 provide a framework for the implementation of initiatives on the ground in support of sustainable development, the circular economy and the energy transition. This new set of challenges we must meet is commensurate with today’s environmental issues.

« Working every day at the heart of local communities to transform waste into resources for the future”: this is the CHIMIREC Group’s mission.
